Hallöchen!

Wollte mir mal googleearth antun, musste deswegen auf den atieigenen Treiber ausweichen. Installation klappte ganz gut, der Treiber funktioniert solala` :-(! Habe 2 Bildschirme angeschlossen.

Das Kernelmodul wird ohne Probleme geladen beim Start, aber ich habe keine notwendige GLX Erweiterung für googleearth. fglrxinfo gibt aus, das Screen 0:0 keine GLX Erweiterung hat.

Wo könnte ich ansetzen, bzw. den Fehler ausmachen?

Höchstwahrscheinlich Probleme mit der xorg.conf.

Hast du:

a) Load "glx" und Load "dri" in der Config(müßte in Section "Module" sein iirc)?
b) Option "DRI" "true" in der Section Device?
c) Option "AIGLX" "false" in der Section Device(gilt nur für xorg-7.1)?
d) "Driver" "fglrx" in Section Device?
e) Mode "0666" in Section DRI?

Danke erstmal, werde es heute gleich mal testen. Weiss zufällig jemand, ob der xorg Treiber 3D Unterstützt? Der fglrx Treiber macht bei mir ziemliche Probleme im Zusammenhang mit Overlay. Der Videobildschirm zieht Streifen sofern ich auf dem anderen Bildschirm eine Anwendung Vollbild benutze. VideoOVerlay ist an. Das geht dann nach paar Sekunden soweit, dass ich garnix mehr erkennen kann auf beiden Bildschirmen, sieht aus wie Bildsalat. Die Probleme habe ich mit dem xorg Treiber absolut nicht.

Ok, habe es etwas anders gelöst. Ich habe den xserver-xorg nochmals komplett (--purge) entfernt, es klappt leider nicht mit dem Manuellen hinzufügen der DRI Section. Danach installierte ich den xserver-xorg neu. Nun funktionierte zunächst auch MesaGLX, also SoftwareRendering problemlos. Für den nötigen Speed kompilierte ich den ATI Treiber, mit aticonfig die xorg.conf anpassen lassen. Bisschen Handarbeit und nun ist alles in Butter

Für alle interessieren, hier meine xorg.conf für Zweischirmbetrieb. Beide für VideoOverlay ausgelegt.

soweit ich weiß funktioniert 3d beschleunigung bei ner x300 auch mit dem opensource treiber von xorg, bin mir aber nicht sicher. wenn ja wäre der auf jeden fall empfehlenswerter weil schneller, besser und natürlich eben open^^

Ja, diese Mesa Erweiterung hat auch funktioniert mit dem xorg Treiber. Leider kann der Treiber von xorg nicht mit meiner Bildschirmreihenfolge umgehen. Hab zur Zeit nu noch ein Problem mit dem Overlay auf beiden Bildschirmen.

Wo mer grad' bei dem ATI Treiber sind:

Lohnt es sich den aktuellen Treiber zu laden? ich selber nutze ja die Version 8.24.08 als 64 Bit....

Die Erweiterung Composite kann nicht gefunden werden 
Sie müssen Xorg 6.8 oder neuer verwenden, damit Transparenz und Schatten funktionieren. 
Zusätzlich müssen Sie eine neuen Abschnitt in die Konfigurationsdatei von X einfügen:

Der kommt beim starten von KDE.... (SuSE 10.0 Pro 64Bit)

is eigentlich alles OK... Wenn ich das aber in die config eintrage spinnt die gesammte anzeige
