Hallo,

Beta version of upcoming avast update (4.7.881)

Works fine with Vista RC1 Build 5600.
But the Programm will make a Downgrade when at Autoupdate.
I have Change it to Manuell Check for a New Version of Avast.

How to install it: this time, I'm providing direct links to whole setup packages (as for Vista, you need to install it from scratch, as opposed to using the avast program updater; on non-Vista systems, you can use the old aswBeta trick which will give you v4.7.881 as well).

There is a number of fixes in this release. Here's the list of most important changes:

* avast now compatible with Windows Vista RC1 (but Vista still warns that there are some "compatibility issues" when the main avast scanner is executed - we're working together with MS on removing these warnings)
* added CHM unpacker (and this time, it should work even in the boot-time scanner)
* fixed a bug that could be causing crash of the scanner on certain UPX packed executable (PLEASE TEST full on-demand scans)
* added a workaround to problems with compatibility with Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall (remainst of menus on the screen + seldom hang of avast program on start)
* better detection of ZoneAlarm Pro (to prevent unnecessary WebShield incompatibility warnings)

Auch von mir ein danke für die Info, ABER:

Wozu sollte ich eine Beta nutzen, wenn die deutsche finale Version
bisher bei mir ohne Fehler arbeitet.

Definitions-Update wurde gestern automatisch eingespielt.

ganz einfach, weil sie nur mit der 64 bit vista rc1 fehlerfrei funktioniert. mit der 32 bit gibt es nichts als ärger.

dachte ich mir, drum hab ich es geschrieben. diese beta gibt es übrigens auch in deutsch.

also hab bei mir etrust Internet security am laufen .. ja unter rc1

beinhaltet anti virus , anti spyware und anti spam ...

normalerweise auch firewall aber die hab ich net mit drauf ...

Antiviren produktversion ist 7.1.9.1 engine version ist 12.4.1

antispam produktversion ist 4.0.380.0

und antispyware prduktversion 8.0.0.10 SDK Version 5.6.8.13


und mus sagen rennt wunderbar .... alle teile funzen

hab die beta von avast drauf. direkt nach der installation sagt vista noch was von bekannten kompatibilitätsproblemen. die kann man aber wegklicken. danach läuft es einwandfrei. nur das automatische programmupdate sollte man nicht aktivieren. die virusdatenbank wird aber selbstverständlich automatisch upgedatet. ist also wirklich einsetzbar.
