WinZip v10.0 Beta 2 (Build 6644) Englisch

Einen kompletten Überblick über die Neuerungen in Version 10.0 Beta gibt es hier.

Changelog:
- Support for DVD Burning has been added. You can now create a new Zip file on a DVD as well as on a CD. Note: CD/DVD writing is only available on systems with the Windows XP operating system.
- The Job Wizard "Select Items" feature has been changed. The left pane now only displays folders, instead of folders and files.
- In the Job Wizard, when you check (or include) a folder in either pane, the contents of that folder are now automatically displayed in the right pane.
- The "Reuse WinZip window" option is now turned off on installation.
- Miscellaneous bug fixes and minor enhancements, including:
- WinZip startup - Certain configurations would cause WinZip to take a long time to boot up. This has been corrected. The delay may still occur when accessing the CD/DVD writing.
- Job Wizard - "Select Items" no longer shows network shortcuts in either pane. To specifiy a network location, you must use Entire Network.
- Check for Updates ? did not work with Norton Internet Security, even after granting connection permissions. This has been addressed.

Naja über Winzip braucht man nicht mehr zu berichten... es gibt wirklich weitaus bessere und günstigere Archivierprogramme.

WinZip v10.0 Final (Build 6685) Englisch

Einen kompletten Überblick über alle Neuerungen in WinZip v10.0 gibt es hier.

Changelog seit Build 6667:
- If WinZip could not display the entire Zip file name in the title bar when first started, an error stating that WinZip32.exe is damaged would display while trying to extract files from the Zip file. The WinZip32.exe file was not damaged, the message was being incorrectly displayed. WinZip now allows the files to be extracted and the message no longer displays.
- While trying to register WinZip using a multi-user license file (WINZIP.WZMUL), users with restricted access to the Windows encryption library would get an incorrect message that the license was not valid and the registration would fail. WinZip now correctly recognizes the file and activates the license.
If the WINZIP.WZMUL file was corrupt, the message that appeared was not very helpful. A better message is now displayed.
- When selecting not to display the security prompt when running a job file, users with restricted access to the Windows encryption library would still get the prompt later when they re-ran the job file. This has been corrected.
- The Job Wizard was not correctly reading encryption and FTP password over 32 characters from the job file. This has been corrected.

WinZip v10.0 Final (Build 6698) Englisch

Changelog (seit Build 6685):
- A problem with canceling the operation for splitting an existing Zip file has been corrected.
- The Help menu for users with WinZip Standard registrations has been changed. The selection previously called "Upgrade to WinZip Pro" is now called "Register WinZip Pro Upgrade". Standard users who have upgraded to WinZip Pro can use this selection to enter their new registration codes. A new selection called "Upgrade to WinZip Pro" takes you to WinZip's upgrade page on the WinZip web site.
- WinZip's silent on-demand install feature is now available and enabled with this release. Site license administrators who wish to use WinZip's silent on-demand install feature will need to place a file called autoinst.txt in the WinZip program folder along with the winzip.wzmul file. The content of the autoinst.txt file must be: "I agree to the WinZip Computing License Agreement" Please refer to www.winzip.com/xsiteins.htm for more information.
- An improved error message displays when trying to extract a Windows XP SP2 security blocked file to a folder with a long path name.
