Die Open-Source-Community rund um KillerPDF kann sich freuen: Mit Version 1.6.4 liefert Entwickler SteveTheKiller ein reines Bugfix-Release, das die Stabilität und Kompatibilität des beliebten PDF-Editors spürbar verbessert. I just released KillerPDF 1.7.2 and then a 1.7.3 hotfix immediately afterwards because of an embarrassing bug.
New in these releases:
- Seven new themes and Polish localization
- Book layout for two-page viewing
- Levels controls for improving pale or hard-to-read scans
- Paper size and source controls in the print dialog
- Column-aware text selection
- Support for comb-style form fields
- Separate night mode for each split pane
- Lower memory use on large PDFs
- Live previews when selecting images
- A pile of rendering, form, theme, and interface fixes
- KillerPDF is local-only with no account, subscription, telemetry, or cloud uploads. All my stuff is GPLv3.

Fazit: KillerPDF 1.7.3 ist ein essenzielles Update für alle Nutzer Das Update ist, wie gewohnt, als portable Version verfügbar und benötigt keine Installation. Ein Download lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, um von den Stabilitätsverbesserungen und der erhöhten Kompatibilität zu profitieren.
GPLv3-Lizenz, .NET Framework 4.8; es ist keine zusätzliche Runtime-Umgebung zu installieren. Läuft auf jedem Windows 10- oder Windows 11-System (x64).

've been building for the web since the 90s, back when a personal site meant hand-written HTML and a lot of trial and error, and about twenty years ago I was designing GTK 2.0 themes for fun and sharing them on the Ubuntu Forums under the name Saint Angeles. I grew up taking things apart to see how they worked, and somewhere along the way I learned to enjoy putting them back together too.
That instinct followed me into IT. By day I'm a field tech at an MSP, handling networking, sysadmin work, and endpoint support, with over six years of full-stack development behind me. At home I run a Proxmox-based homelab with Home Assistant, OpenWrt, and whatever I'm currently pulling apart. There's something satisfying about diagnosing a broken system and walking away with it running clean.
Most software today is bloated, packed with tracking, and stuffed with dependencies nobody asked for. I don't think you should need an account to use a tool.
