Kernel 2.6.33 Und Nvidia Treiber wird in Linux Mint nicht richtig installiert!

Hallo,
ich bin vor kurzem von Ubuntu 9.10 auf Linux Mint umgestiegen (is eigentlich ein und das selbe; ich weiß).
Jedenfalls hatte ich genug davon, dass dort ein ständig veralteter Kernel war. Ich hab also den 2.6.33 Kernel installiert und der PC startet auch fast normal. Nur beim starten kam ein Fehler, dass der NVIDIA Treiber nicht richtig funktioniert. Also hab ich ihn deinstalliert und hab neugestartet. Kein Fehler!
Dann hab ich den Treiber (version 185) neuinstalliert und da kam wieder der Fehler.
Meine Frage ist jetzt, wie ich den neusten NVIDIA Treiber auf dem 2.6.33 Kernel installieren soll.

Wäre nett, wenn ihr mir das Schritt für Schritt erklärt, den ohne Treiber is meine GraKa extrem laut!

NVIDIA 2.1.17 laeuft bei mir problemlos mit X 1.8-dev und Kernel 2.6.34-rc1

Unten Ausgabe vom Protokoll von X , und Konfig-Datei , damit solltest du den Fehler finden koennen
(daß als willkuerlicher device-Name "VESA-Framebuffer" angegeben ist ist belanglos da ich nur zu faul war das umzubenennen; der Treiber ist nv , manchmal benutze ich statt nv auch fbdev oder vesa, funktioniert alles problemlos)


Fertige Pakete gibt es hier:

Installieren: entzippen und uebers System kopieren, dann aus /install die Datei doinst.sh nach / kopieren, cd / , und von / aus (!!!) sh doinst.sh ausfuehren, danach /install und doinst.sh loeschen. Mit CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE (oder mit init 2 ; init 5) X neu starten

Na scherz beiseite... Ich nehme fast an - kenne grad nicht die aktuellen Details - dass du das selbe Porblem hast wie ich damals mit SuSE 10.0

Der Strich wurde mir durch den zu neuen (beta) XServer durch die Rechnung gemacht.

Bleiben dir 2 Möglichkeiten:

Warten auf nVidia und mit deinem XServer funktionierenden Treiber
umrüsten auf alternativ OS wie Ubuntu.

Ich weiß nicht ob du mich richtig verstanden hast, aber Linux Mint ist eigentlich Ubuntu, nur mit ner anderen Oberfläche und schon vorinstallierten Codecs. Das Problem mit dem Treiber ist ja erst eingetretten, als ich den neuen Kernel installiert habe. Davor war alles wunderbar.
Fragt sich nur ob das gleiche Problem mit dem original Ubuntu auftritt.

Bleib halt beim alten Kernel, also lass die Distro so wie sie nach der Installation ist

So, mein Problem hat sich eigentlich schon fast erledigt. Ich habe das original Ubuntu 9.10 installiert, dann den 2.6.33er Kernel draufgehauen, dann wurde mir ein neuer NVIDIA Treiber vorgeschlagen (Version 195) und denn hab ich installiert. Zurzeit funktioniert alles, auch die GraKa läuft normal.
Das einzige Problem was ich nun habe ist, dass kein Sound mehr da ist. Die Hardware wird anscheinend nicht erkannt.

xD nein so doof bin ich jetzt auch nicht. Jedenfalls hab ich jetzt gemerkt, dass die Soundkarte mal erkannt wird und mal nicht. Zurzeit kann ich noch Musik hören; ob das nach dem nächsten Neustart auch so sein wird weiß ich nicht.

Soundchip ist der VIA VT1708S. Habe ich noch nie etwas von gehört.

Hmm...dass sie mal erkannt wird und mal nicht, kann ich mir ehrlich gesagt nicht vorstellen. Falls sie mal wieder zicken sollte, kannst du mal die Ausgabe von `dmesg` posten.
