Ich besitze die Vista Ultimate Edition und kann seit kurzem keine Updates mehr fahren.
Ich erhalte immer die Meldung, dass die neue Windows Update Software installiert werden muss:



Darauf versuche ich wie vorgegeben das entsprechende Update zu installieren.
Nach kurzer Zeit erscheint folgende Fehlermeldung:



Fehlercode 8000FFFF . Google hat mir jedoch keine Lösung hierzu liefern können, die mein Problem behoben hat.

Im Updateverlauf kann ich sehen, dass es sich bei dem zu installierenden Update um die Windows Update Software Version 7.0.6000.381 handelt:

Das Problem in etwas hatte ich letztens auch: >>Klick<<

Nach der Reparatur sah es erst einmal gut aus, ab dann fing es so an, wie man es auf dem Screenshot von Stardust1982 sieht. Der WUA ließ sich nicht mehr installieren bzw. hing in einer Endlosschleife fest und das Update System war hinüber. Irgend etwas scheint da mit dem SelfUpdate nicht immer ganz zu klappen.

Da die Oktober Updates mein System dann endgültig zerstört haben, habe ich alles neu installiert. Den WUA 7.6000.381 habe ich dabei direkt in die DVD integriert (da es für einige Updates notwendig ist) und jetzt scheint es erst einmal mit der Version sauber zu laufen. Hoffe, das bleibt jetzt auch so.

Der hängt bei Dir auch in der Endlosschleife. Er will es installieren, kann es aber nicht, weil etwas unerwartetes passiert (0x8000FFFF = E_UNEXPECTED).

Bei mir fing es halt an, dass sich das Update nur Teilweise installiert hat (Setup package "WUClient-SelfUpdate-Core-TopLevel~...~7.0.6000.381" is partially installed and needs to be downloaded.) Nach der Reparatur ging es dann, aber dann wollte er auch immer und immer wieder das Update installieren.

Da das System dann eh komplett weg war, konnte ich ds nicht weiter verfolgen, was da so "Unerwartetes" passiert.

Kannst ja mal das Teil ausführen: BITS Repair Tool for Windows Vista

Bei mir konnte ich es ja nicht mehr testen. Vielleicht bringt das ja in dem Fall irgend etwas.

Habe das Tool runtergeladen.
Nützt leider nichts. Beim Start der Exe kommt immer die Meldung:

"Zurzeit ist keine BITS Reparatur erforderlich"

Tja, das ist dann blöd. Weiß da leider momentan auch nicht weiter.

Das Problem ist dieser 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED) Fehler. Das ist absolut nichtssagend. Kann alles Mögliche bedeuten. Aus Deinem Log geht leider auch nichts nützliches mehr hervor, was weiter hilft (zum. sehe ich da nichts).

Eventuell steht noch etwas in der C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

Hast Du mal unter HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS nachgeschaut, was da so für Schlüsel stehen?

Eventuell muss man da ein paar löschen (StoreDirty, PendingXmldentifier, NextQueueEntryIndex und AdvancedInstallersNeedResolving), falls sie dort existieren.

Du kannst noch versuchen das Windows-update von Altlasten zu befreien.
Dazu must du den Dienst Windows-Update beenden und die Ordner
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore
leeren(nicht selbst löschen) und den Update Dienst wieder starten.

Habe ich bereits versucht. Habe den SoftwareDistribution Ordner umbenannt und dann ein erneutes update durchgeführt. Leider auch kein Erfolg!

Vielleicht ist eine Neuinstallation von Vista doch mal ganz nett.

Wüsste jetzt leider nichts mehr, wie man das Problem fixen könnte.

hmm, wollte ich mir eigentlich ersparen. So ansich läuft das System gut. Habe Vista erst seit 3 Monaten...

Vor einer Neuinstallation würde ich aber mal die Systemwiederherstellung bemühen.
Und wenn's sein muß den ältesten Punkt wählen.
