Look here for the fix:

The registry hack works with Vista and 7. Seem to be a fairly common problem tho no-one seems to know what's causing it to happen.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion ("Service Pack x)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows (100 for SP1, 200 for SP2, etc)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet00?\Control\Windows (100 for SP1, 200 for SP2, etc)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet00?\Control\Windows (100 for SP1, 200 for SP2, etc)
