Ich benutze Vista RC1. Während 3 * optional Updates (1 x Nvidia 6200 - 1 x Benq Monitor und 1 x das ich leider nicht erinnern kann) friert das System ein. Nach neustart war die Internetverbindungen nicht mehr brauchbar. Falls man trotzdem es versucht friert das System ein wieder. Es wird auch ein "Neue Hardware - Ethernet Controller" angezeigt mit dem Aufforderung dafur ein Treiber zu installieren. Dann aber wird es versucht gleich das Internet anzuwahlen und das System friert wieder ein.

Da sind 2 Netzwerk-Karten in das PC - eine wird nicht benutzt (ein Realtech) und die VIA Rhein II Fast Ethernet Adapter wird für das DSL verwendet und DIE scheint normal installiert zu sein in die Geräte Manager.

So oder so lasst die DSL Modem nicht angesteuert sein. Das LAN- Lämpchen auf dem Modem der normalerweise flackert etwas ist jetzt konstant am leuchten ohne flackern usw.

Was soll diese "Ethernet Controller" sein? Ist das gleich die Realtech Netzwerk-Karte? Falls ja - warum soll ein Problem mit ein _nicht-benutzte_ Netz-Karte die anderen Netzkarte lahm liegen.

Ich hab von der Motherboard- Hersteller (PC Chip) ein download gefunden für dem "LAN-Treiber" aber da drin sind ein ganze Menge von Verzeichnissen und Kram wobei ich keine Ahnung habe was das alles sein soll.

Außer dem ist zu bedenken das mit dem gleichen PC/Motherboard/BIOS/Netwerk-Karten usw usw - läuft weiterhin alles völlig ok mit dem XP Windoze die auf ein anderen Partition ist natürlich.

I tried to disable the lan card (Ethernet Controller?) that vista was botherd about. But it came right back up. The one I have been using up till now for the net is the one on the motherboard. The other one was not being used and is a plug in one... hmmm - that`s a thought I could take it out! <I am a bit slow at this time of the year I guess...> But on the other hand it causes no problem at all when running the xp.

Sorry I should have read this a bit more carefully - no I have _not_ made any bios changes? I will try it... thanx - will let you know what happens...

Hi Breaker - The problem is fixed. I found a button in the "Geräte Manager" that said I could go back to the previous driver if an update- driver did not work. I did this - re-booted and all is well. Thanx for all your help.
