Hallo Leute,
ich habe ein Problem mit Ubuntu Dapper und meiner Intel GMA 950 Grafikkarte:

Ich kann nicht die native Auflösung meines TFTs wählen. Bzw. kann schon, dann richtet er aber einen virtuellen Desktop ein.
Außerdem ist die 3D Leistung dermaßen schlecht, dass bereits glxgears oder ein simpler Bildschirmschoner ruckeln...

Ich hatte mal SuSE drauf, da war das alles kein Problem und lief out-of-the-box.


Kann mir jemand weiterhelfen?

Also mit den Treibern ist das ist sone Sache:

Es gibt ein RPM für SuSE Linux 9.x und für "linux" Quellen. Keine Ahung was das ist... Im Netz habe ich gelesen das das angeblich unveränderte "XFree86-Sources" sein sollen, die nicht benutzbar sind.
Ansonsten habe ich xserver-xorg-driver-i810 installiert.

Die native Auflösung des Panels ist 1600x1200 bei einer Farbtiefe von 32. Das macht der auch so unter Windows.


Mittlerweile bin ich auch Ubundu Breezy runter...

Nur des Verständnis wegen, ist das ein Notebook mit externem TFT? If so, kann die Graka vielleicht extern einfach nicht die gewollte Auflösung liefern?

Ansonsten poste mal die xorg.conf, den Output von "lsmod" bei gestartetem X sowie den Output von lspci (<- als root).

Nein, es ist eine einfache Workstation mit TFT. Ohne legliche Hardwareänderung schafft Windows die gewollte Auflösung.
