So, some people have already started downloading Mint Source and are wondering what the heck it is meant to do and why are Microsoft promoting it?!
Mint Source is really intended as a fun way for UK students to get access to knowledge and guidance for being a technical student. This can be links to articles of developing with .NET, tutorials on how to customise the Mint Source application, how to compete in the Imagine Cup and other interesting information that could be useful to you. And then we plan to do the not so useful but hopefully still amusing stuff the team likes to mess around with such as taking Mint Source around the world and being photographed in strange places, to when/where we will be on a campus near you.
Why did we bother doing this when there are a gazillion RSS aggregators out there?! It's meant as a fun way to get access to the RSS feeds (if you want to use your own reader, like RSS Bandit, then please do so!) and also to understand a little of the developer tools and .NET Framework that went into making it.
Have a laugh and play with our little friend Mint Source and also get blog updates when they happen from the team!

Ich wollte es gerade testen, aber der benötigt das .NET Framework Version 2 und das hab ich hier (noch) nicht installiert.
Habt ihr auch so Probleme beim Download der Express Editions? Ich wollte mir heute Mittag die "Visual C# Express Edition" als Image herunterladen (knapp 500MB), aber bei 15kbit/s macht es keinen wirklichen Spaß.

Hi,
achtet bitte auf meinen ersten Post, musste das erweitern, darin ist jetzt enthalten, wie ihr offline Setups erstellt ohne die vollen CDs zu laden.
Übrigens ist alles bis auf J# Deutsch.

Hallo also ich habe mir das runtergeladen und das auch so mit dem verzeichnis gemacht wie morpheus00de dieses beschrieben hat.
Vorher habe ich das Netframework und das J# installiert.
Wenn ich nun versuche Visual C# Express Edition zu installieren erhallte ich den Fehlercode 2711.
"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2711."
Die anderen Sachen habe ich noch nicht versucht zu installieren.
Hat jemand ne idee warum und wieso?

Hi,
also nommal das Websetup dl und bei dem dl Link vorher 409 durch 407 ersetzen.
Diese websetup.exe oder wie sie heißt mit winrar in einen Ordner entpacken, dann für C# ixpvcs.exe in den Ordner dl/kopieren.
Die setup.exe aus der websetup.exe und die ixpvcs.exe sollten dann auf einer Orderebene sein.
also nommal das Websetup dl und bei dem dl Link vorher 409 durch 407 ersetzen.
