Guten Tag,
habe ein Problem, was vermutlich schon Hunderte beschrieben haben, finde aber in allen möglichen gelesenen Artikeln jetzt nicht die richtige Antwort.
Mich nerven unvermittelte Neustarts, danach fehlt dann immer die Schnellstartleiste und der DSL-Manager öffnet nicht freiwillig.

Computer:Intel ®, Pentium ® 4 CPU 2,80 GHz
504 MB RAM
BS Windows XP Professional, Version 2002,Service Pack 3

Dazu das leidige Problem mit dem ständig länger werdenden Hochfahren. Habe Registry-Reiniger mit CCleaner, bringt nicht wirklich viele Fehler zum Vorschein - gibt es ein besseres? (bitte kostenfrei).
AntiVir Premium Edition als Virenschutz läuft (alles schon lange). Gehöre zu den Ordentlichen, räume auf, defragmentiere nach größeren Aktionen usw.
Hätte gerne mal ein paar Tipps, wie man XP wieder schneller macht

Schau mal in deinen Autostartordner, ob dort unnötiges drinnen ist.
Kenn z.B. diesem DSL-Manager überhaupt nicht. OK evtl brauchst du den ja wirklich.
Ansonsten: Laufende Dienste, die du nicht wirklich benötigtst?

Danke, Mister- X. Ja, Autostart enthält die Programme, zu denen ich mich "bekennen" kann. DSL-Mamger von T-online erscheint mir hilfreich beim Seitenladen, habe in unserer Gegend nur DSL 1000, ist in heutiger Zeit oft nicht befriedigend.
Habe den Eindruck, dass beim endgültigen Starten (Desktop-Oberfläche ist da, Virenprogramm und Firewall noch nicht aktiv, "still ruht der See")ein Check im Hintergrund läuft, den ich aber nicht einsehen kann. Kann man bei Antivir Programme vom ständigen Check ausnehmen? Oder gibt es andere Kniffe?

Dann gebe ich dir was, wo ich selber XP habe und die Registry selber die Cache umgestellt habe.
Als erstes erstellst du ein Textdokument und benennst es dann " DSL+Windows Speed.Reg " um.

Dann Doppelklick, bestätigen und Neustart.
Wie sieht es jetzt aus?
Also bisher, egal was andere schrieben, lief alles ohne Probleme.
Selbst das bekannt Tuneup 2010 hat es bis heute nicht geschafft, die Registry Werte des DSL vernünftig einzustellen.
In dieser Registry habe ich den Cache berücksichtig und DSL korrekte Werte zu gewiesen.
Mache bitte vorher ein Backup deines System und teste dieses kleine Programm.
Weil manche Registry Cleaner die Werte verändern oder sogar löschen, habe ich immer nachträglich diese Programm geschrieben, der immer alles zurückgesetzt.
Vielleicht ist das noch niemanden aufgefallen, aber manche Registry Cleaner ändern die Werte im Cache Bereich und daher wird Windows zur Schnecke.
