Systemsteuerung-> Verwaltung-> Dienste

Dort den Dienst stoppen (nicht deaktivieren) und nach dem Löschen o. Verschieben der Datei wieder starten.

Ansonsten in der Konsole oder über Start-> Ausführen net [stop|start] "Automatic Updates" (musst halt nur den dt. Dienstnamen verwenden).
Ich bin kein Toilettenpapier-Hamster.

Ok, ich kann aber das WindowsUpdate-file nicht löschen. Mir wird gesagt, dass ich alle Programme schließen soll, da das evtl. noch in Benutzung ist. Ich hab alles zu. ;D

mh? Das ist sonderbar. Im Editor noch offen? Dienst wirklich angehalten? Läuft eventuell noch der Dienst für die "Intelligente Hintergrundübertragung (BITS)"? Seltsam. Eventuell mal Neustarten zwischendurch. Eventuell klemmt der Agent an sich, weil es Probleme mit den Updates gab. Seltsam.

Ansonsten mal mit dem Process Explorer nach schauen, wer die Datei WindowsUpdate.log blockiert (Menü Find->Find Handle or DLL-> im Suchfeld "WindowsUpdate.log" eingeben)

Bin auch gerade am Überlegen, warum [codebox*] nicht klappt....

Gut, weiß momentan nicnht, was da mit codebox nicht klappt, aber auch egal. Was das Log angeht, hier steht das Gesuchte (etwas gekürzt):

(so sollte das mit dem codebox eigentlich nicht aussehen, sieht nach einem Bug aus)

Fehlercode ist aber 0x80004002, wenn er versucht, C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe zu starten. Der Dienst startet zwar, beendet sich aber sofort wieder (Remote update handler container process created (PID: 2604), but exited before signaling event).

Hast Du mal nachgeschaut, ob der Dienst "COM+ System Application" (wie er auch immer auf Deutsch heißen mag), sich starten läßt und falls nicht, was dazu in der Ereignisanzeige steht? Irgend etwas blockiert da das System.

Unter Vista hat bei einem ähnlichen Problem geholfen den Ordner "SoftwareDistribution" (direkt unter C:\Windows\) in "SoftwareDistribution.old" umzubenennen bzw. ganz zu löschen. Der zugehörige Update-Dienst muss natürlich vorher beendet werden. Danach den Rechner neu booten, den Dienst wieder starten und Windows Update erneut laufen lassen.

Ob das jetzt auch unter XP funktioniert kann ich natürlich nicht versprechen. Versuchen kannst Du es ja mal.

Bleibt denn COM+Systemanwendungen auch gestartet oder beendet der sich schnell wieder?

Ansonsten halt mal die Radikalmethode probieren: Lösche mal alle Ordner aus C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution außer ~\Download (Das spart den erneuten Download der Updates, welche ja lt. Agent fehlerfrei sind). Vorher aber wieder den Update Dienst anhalten und ggf. auch den BITS (Intelligete Hintergrundübertragung). Danach wierder starten, das Übliche halt.

Der Schlüssel zur Lösung sind diese drei Zeilen:

Misc = Process: C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe
AUClnt FATAL: Error: 0x80004002. wuauclt handler: failed to spawn COM server
Handler FATAL: 0x80004002: ERROR: Remote update handler container process created (PID: 2604), but exited before signaling event

Solange die wuauclt.exe nicht gestartet bleibt, werden keine Updates installiert.

@Uli25:
Ja, schwierig. Hast Du mal bei Dir in die WindowsUpdate.log geschaut, was dort für Fehler vorhanden sind? Eventuell ist es ja der Selbe oder eventuell auch ein anderer. Ich weiß momentan noch nicht einmal so genau, warum das bei flockemithund nicht klappt. Irgendetwas blockiert da den COM server.

Ich schmeiß mich aber weg, wenn es am Ende wirklich nur an Zonealarm und/oder AntiVir liegt, dass einer oder beide dummes Zeug machen.

Mir wird bei COM+Systemanwendungen noch die Option zum Beenden gegeben, ich gehe also davon aus, dass die weiterhin laufen.
Insta funktioniert trotzdem nicht. Ich versuche mal deinen Weg und editiere hier dann rein.

Vorher noch ne Frage von mir. Was ist das BITS oder wie könnte das auf deutsch heissen? Ich finde das nicht in den DIensten

SO, der Stand bei mir: Ich habe alles gelöscht, wie du gesagt hast. Gebootet, Updatefunktionen wieder aktiviert ... und alles ist wie vorher. Keine Installation. :smokin:

Hab mal geschaut, wo wuauclt.exe noch drin ist. Ausser im temp ist es noch unter c:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

Ich bin aber schon drauf und dran alles zu formatieren. Meine Stimmung ist auf dem Nullpunkt.

Deinstalliere spaßeshalber mal ZoneAlarm und AntiVir. Was anderes fällt mir da momentan nicht mehr ein.

Ging doch vorher auch mit den beiden. Aber gut. Wenn ich dann sowieso alles lösche, kann ich die beiden Dinger auch vorher rausschmeissen und testen.
