Für die Unterstützung der Filesysteme greift GParted auf andere Tools zurück. Wer zum Beispiel mit NTFS-Partitionen hantieren will, braucht die installierten ntfsprogs des Linux-NTFS Projects. Diese sind jedoch normalerweise Bestandteil aktueller Linux-Distributionen und auch in die GParted-Live-CD integriert.
