Neuerungen seit Version Alpha 1:
* Fixed crash with Reflect and Glow layer blend modes
* Desaturate adjustment was renamed to "Black and White"
* Crop to Selection added to the toolbar and given a shortcut key (Ctrl + Shift + X)
* Full installer size reduced by 5 MB
* Antialiasing and Alpha Blending settings are now remembered between sessions of Paint.NET
* Fixed a crash when opening certain older PDN files
* Fixed a crash in the Clone Stamp tool
* Fixed the problem where changing the system resolution while Paint.NET was minimized would make it difficult to restore the window
* Fixed a crash in the Image -> Resize dialog
* Fixed crashes related to loading the ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll assembly

Paint.NET v2.6 Beta 1 (Englisch und Deutsch)
für Windows 2000 / XP / Server 2003 / Vista, benötigt .NET Framework v2.0

Die finale Version von Paint.NET Version 2.6 ist für den 15. Januar 2006 geplant. Sie unterstützt .NET Framework 2.0, und hat vollen nativen Windows x64 Support (64-bit). Ausserdem wird die GUI ästhetisch überarbeitet (bessere Icons, Toolbars, usw.).

Die wichtigsten Neuerungen seit Version 2.5:
- Now uses .NET Framework 2.0
- Full support for 64-bit processors, both x64 and Itanium (32-bit also supported, of course)
- UI has been aesthetically upgraded (new icons, toolbars, etc.)
- Layer ordering has been flipped "right side up" in the UI
- Layer composition engine is now correct, and also much faster
- Seven new layer blend modes: Color Burn, Color Dodge, Reflect, Glow, Overlay, Negation, and Xor
- Checkerboard "transparency" background is now rendered in screen coordinates so that it does not scale with the zoom level
- Pixelate effect is now much faster
- Ability to choose language during setup

Die finale Version von Paint.NET Version 2.6 wurde soeben verfügbar. Sie unterstützt .NET Framework Version 2.0, und hat vollen nativen Windows x64 Support (64-Bit). Ausserdem wurde die GUI ästhetisch überarbeitet, die Performance verbessert, neue "Kurven-Einstellungen" und sieben neue Ebenenverbindungsmodi hinzugefügt.



Die Neuerungen in Version 2.6:
- Full 64-bit support, for both x64 and Itanium systems
- New "Curves" adjustment for editing an image's color curves
- Seven new layer blend modes: Color Burn, Color Dodge, Reflect, Glow, Overlay, Negation, and Xor
- Aesthetic improvements to the entire user interface
- Better performance, especially for 64-bit systems
- Zooming, esp. with the mouse wheel, has been enhanced
- Rewritten layer composition engine is now mathematically correct, and faster
- Deployment via AD/GPO is now much easier (use /createMsi with setup package)
- User interface now works correctly in high-DPI (120dpi, 144dpi, 196dpi)
- Layers window list is no longer "upside down"
- Upgraded to use .NET Framework 2.0
- Many other improvements and fixes

Anmerkung: Die Hilfe-Datei ist momentan noch nicht auf Deutsch übersetzt. Es ist geplant dies im April bei einer aktualisierten Version 2.6 nachzuholen.

Paint.NET v3.07 Final (Englisch und Deutsch)
für Windows XP SP2 / Server 2003 SP1 / Vista, benötigt Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0

This update enhances the Line/Curve tool, significantly reduces the download size, and fixes some bugs related to opening and saving files in Windows Vista.



Die Neuerungen in Version 3.07:
- New: Line/Curve tool has been enhanced to allow drawing arrowheads, and to draw with various dashed- and dotted- styles.
- New: Image tab thumbnails now have an indicator if the respective image has unsaved changes (an orange asterisk is shown).
Improved: The Save Configuration dialog (choose JPEG quality, etc.) now allows you to maximize it. It also remembers its relative location and size.
- Changed: The help file / documentation is now hosted online. This has reduced the download size by more than 3 MB, and will also allow us to provide translations without ballooning the size of the download (each language would have added between 2 and 4MB).
- Changed: The "image list button" (downward triangle) is also shown when only 1 image is open (it used to only display if 2 or more images were open). This is being done for the sake of consistency.
- Fixed: Some operations would reset the selected layer to the first/lowest layer. This selection is now preserved.
- Fixed: The Image->Rotate commands no longer hangs if a selection was active.
- Fixed: Several problems have been fixed with our implementation surrounding the new Vista Open/Save dialogs. This includes: opening an image from an http:// source, opening images from a digital camera that is not mapped to a file system path (such as a drive letter), the Save dialog not always prompting you about overwriting an existing file, and many corner cases that previously caused crashes.
