Pentium M 715 Und Kernel 2.6.20

Hallo,

mir ist aufgefallen das die Pentium M 715 CPU (Dothan 1,5Ghz) seit dem kernel 2.6.20 mit allen Linux Distributionen um 100 MHz zu schnell läuft. Also 1.6 Ghz, und damit auch 2 Grad wärmer.
Im Notebook finde ich das nicht besonders toll, komisch ist auch das es seit praktisch 1.5 Jahren keinen Fix dazu gab, oder das es sonst niemand bemerkt hat.

Hat einer von euch schonmal diesen Bug bei sich beobachten können? Ich gehe davon aus das im Kernel einfach die CPU Specs falsch hinterlegt werden. Habe dieses auch schonmal im Kubuntu/Debian Bugbereich gepostet aber keine Antwort erhalten ....

Klingt ja witzig.
Hast du mal ein
cat /proc/cpuinfo und falls vorhanden ein cpufreq-info und dmesg | grep CPU ?

Edit: Als Workaround könntest du cpufreq als max. Freq. einfach deine 1.5 Ghz übergeben.
Ich persönlich würde ja cpufreq dann lieber die 1.6 Ghz lassen und die Taktung auf Ondemand setzen. Dürfte dann wohl temperaturtechnisch nicht auffallen und du hast einen Performancegewinn

hab ich alles gemacht, da steht dann 1600 MHz -->momentan bin ich wieder unter Windows XP, habs aber schon von zig Live CDs getestet, eigene Kernels kompiliert (hilft alles nix).

Und auch bei Ondemand geht er ab und an auf 1.6 Ghz, im Notebook möchte ich aber lange Akkulaufzeiten, also am liebsten sogar noch undervolten wie bei Windows. Performance ist da eher unwichtig (zum Programmieren braucht man da eh keine).

Gib uns doch mal den Output der beiden Befehle. Eventuell langt es schon cpufreq auf 1,5GHz zu beschränken. Es kann allerdings auch sein, dass er mit völlig falschen Werten läuft, dann reicht das nicht. Deshalb gibt uns mal die Outputs.

Beim Dothan 725 existiert übrigens kein solches Problem. Der läuft bei mir richtig (mit Kernel 2.6.24).

Wenn das nichts hilft, einfach mal dort im Bugtracker in den Kommentaren weiterlesen.

Einmal ist die Ausgabe im Powersave Mode, danach im Performance.
CPUfreqd ist irgendwie nicht verfügbar - Momentan kommen die Daten von einem Kubuntu 7.10 Live

Was mich wundert ist diese Zeile hier: [ 0.496086] weird, boot CPU (#0) not listedby the BIOS.

@skaven: danke für den Link, werde das wohl demnächst mal probieren. Ich habe ja genau den Acer 4001 Travelmate.
